Look at any year-end top seller list and it’s pretty much populated by big ticket titles — which is why it’s nice that Nintendo has released a video announcing which indie titles of 2021 sold best. While not ranked (for understandable reasons), it still provides a glimpse into what was a hit and what wasn’t this year. The games include the following:

  • Cyber Shadow
  • Unpacking
  • Tetris Effect: Connected
  • Stick Fight: The Game
  • Curse of the Dead Gods
  • Ender Lilies – Quietus of the Knights
  • Doki Doki Literature Club +
  • Spelunky 2
  • Road 96
  • Subnautica & Subnautica: Below Zero
  • Littlewood
  • Islanders: Console Edition
  • Slime Rancher: Portable Edition
  • Eastward
  • Axiom Verge 2

Maybe you have a couple of these titles already, and maybe their presence here interests you a little more — either way, we can only hope that indies continue successes into 2022 and beyond.
