After Tails’ game voice actress Colleen O’Shaughnessey confirmed her return to a wave of fan approval, it looks like Paramount Pictures wanted to get in on the Sonic 2 hype as well. This morning they’ve revealed the upcoming sequel’s movie poster, featuring Sonic and Tails together aboard the Tornado biplane. In hot pursuit is Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik, mustached and malicious now that he’s seemingly escaped his fungal fate from the first firm.

Alongside the poster, it’s been confirmed after some teases and speculation that the Sonic 2 trailer will drop as part of The Game Awards this Thursday, December 9th. No telling when exactly, but the show begins at 5:00 p.m. PT. As for Sonic the Hedgehog 2, you can see it and these iconic characters (as well as Idris Elba voicing Knuckles) in theaters beginning April 8th, 2022.
