Nintendo’s augmented reality Switch game Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit has been out for a little over a year now and if you were thinking of breaking it out for the holiday season then you’re in luck, as it’s received an update adding a bunch of new features.

For starters there’s the ability to play the game split screen, so long as you have two compatible toy karts. Even more multiplayer mayhem is available too thanks to the new Relay Race mode, where four players will switch in and out of the same kart over the course of a race.

Three new track themes have also been added as part of the Luigi Cup – Windmill Meadows, Music Broadway, and King Boo’s Courtyard. Plus, if you finish within 3rd place of the cup you’ll snag the new Poltergust G-00 kart and Spooky Horn.

The Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit update is available to download now.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
