The reimagined Nintendo Switch versions of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are almost here! Well, legally. While Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl may have leaked ahead of the planned release date, that isn’t stopping a variety of celebratory events for the official launch. This week, Niantic has detailed its plans for a special Pokémon GO event that is showcasing the Sinnoh region and some special costumed versions of the starters!

Kicking off next week, here’s what to look out for in the world of Pokémon GO according to the official Pokémon GO blog:

 

 

Pokémon GO – Celebrating the release of Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Pokémon Shining Pearl on Nintendo Switch

When: Tuesday, November 16th, 2021 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, November 21st, 2021 at 8 p.m. your local time.

  • Costumed Pokémon: Turtwig wearing Lucas’s hat*, Chimchar wearing Lucas’s hat*, Piplup wearing Lucas’s hat*, Turtwig wearing Dawn’s hat*, Chimchar wearing Dawn’s hat*, and Piplup wearing Dawn’s hat*.
  • Event Bonuses: 1/2 Incubator Distance and 1/3 Super Incubator Distance.
  • Collection Challenge: In celebration of these costumed Pokémon making their debut, a Collection Challenge will be available that requires you to catch them all.
    • Complete the challenge to earn 1,000 XP, 3,000 Stardust, and an encounter with Froslass!
  • Bundles – The following bundles will also be available in the shop throughout the event:
    • Event Box (one-time exchange): 20 Poké Balls, one Sinnoh Stone
    • Great Box (300 PokéCoins – one-time exchange): three Super Incubators, two Incubators, one Lure Module
  • New Avatar Items – The following new avatar items will be available in the in-game shop starting on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8) and will continue to be available after the event ends: Turtwig Costume, Chimchar Costume, and Piplup Costume.
    • The following new avatar items will be available at no cost starting on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8) and will continue to be available after the event ends: Sinnoh Hat, Sinnoh Top Set, Sinnoh Pants, Sinnoh Shoes, Sinnoh Backpack, Sinnoh Skirt, and Sinnoh Boots.

 

 

  • Stickers – You’ll be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop: Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Lucario, Palkia, and Dialga.

 

 

Part 1 – Pokémon Brilliant Diamond

When: Tuesday, November 16th, 2021 at 10 a.m. to Thursday, November 18th, 2021 at 10 a.m. your local time.

Note: Pokémon with an asterisk next to their name signifies that if you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one.

  • Wild Encounters! The following Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild: Seel*, Murkrow*, Poochyena*, Aron*, Turwig wearing Lucas’s hat*, Chimchar wearing Lucas’s hat*, Piplup wearing Lucas’s hat*, Bidoof*, Kricketot*, Buneary*, and Stunky.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following: Scyther*, Larvitar*, Burmy (Plant Cloak)*, and Buizel*.
  • Raids! The following Pokémon will be available in raids:
    • 1-Star Raids: Cranidos*, Drifloon*, Bronzor*, and Gible*.
    • 3-Star Raids: Tyranitar, Lopunny*, Drapion, Toxicroak, and Gallade.
    • 5-Star Raids: Cresselia* (will know the Attack Grass Knot).
    • Mega Raids: Mega Lopunny*.
  • 7km Eggs! The following Pokémon will be hatching from Eggs globally: Budew*, Bonsly*, Happiny*, Mime Jr.*, and Riolu*.
  • Field Research Task Encounters! The following Pokémon will be available to encounter when you complete Field Research tasks: Bagon*, Turtwig wearing Dawn’s hat*, Chimchar wearing Dawn’s hat*, Piplup wearing Dawn’s hat*, Burmy (Sandy Cloak)*, and Burmy (Trash Cloak)*.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following: Shieldon*.

 

Part 2 – Pokémon Shining Pearl

When: Thursday, November 18th, 2021 at 10 a.m. to Sunday, November 21st, 2021 at 8 p.m. your local time.

Note: Pokémon with an asterisk next to their name signifies that if you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one.

  • Wild Encounters! The following Pokémon will be appearing more frequently in the wild: Pinsir*, Misdreavus*, Houndour*, Spheal, Turtwig wearing Dawn’s hat*, Chimchar wearing Dawn’s hat*, Piplup wearing Dawn’s hat*, Bidoof*, Kricketot*, Buneary*, and Glameow*.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter the following: Slowpoke*, Bagon*, Buizel*, and Burmy (Sandy Cloak)*.
  • Raids! The following Pokémon will be available in raids:
    • 1-Star Raids: Shieldon*, Drifloon*, and Bronzor*.
    • 3-Star Raids: Salamence, Lopunny*, Drapion, Toxicroak, and Gallade.
    • 5-Star Raids: Cresselia* (will know the Attack Grass Knot).
    • Mega Raids: Mega Lopunny*.
  • 7km Eggs! The following Pokémon will be hatching from Eggs globally: Budew*, Bonsly*, Happiny*, Mime Jr.*, and Riolu*.

Don’t forget that this event will overlap with Pokémon GO’s Community Day for November! You’ll be seeing swarms of Shinx on Sunday, November 21st, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. your local time. Make sure to manage your playtime during the event, especially if you’re trying to catch the costumed versions of Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup – it’ll be easier to find them when Community Day isn’t in full swing.
