Christmas movies are commonplace, but few have tackled the mania of buying the shiny new video game console before. Later this month that’s set to change with the nostalgic ’80s-themed  HBO Max comedy 8-Bit Christmas, starring Neil Patrick Harris as he recounts trying to get an NES for Christmas — and the neighborhood war that ensues.

This family-friendly (PG rated) flick appears to channel A Christmas Story more than anything else, focusing on the absurdities of one boy’s consumerist quest to get his beloved item for Christmas and the perils he comes across. While not the most inventive premise, it’s sure to goad the nostalgia of any NES-seeking ’80s kid, and the trailer honestly looks pretty cute and harmless as far as movies go. You can watch it with your whole family when it drops on HBO Max on November 24th. And good luck trying to get those Switch OLEDs this holiday season, gamers.
