Banjo-Kazooie is beloved for many reasons, but for my massive sack of 900 Notes I’d wager that one of the best is its soundtrack. I can’t imagine Talon Trotting through Gruntilda’s Lair to anything other than composer Grant Kirkhope’s work, with every world getting a treatment that’s both distinct and unified as a whole.

Last year around this time Kirkhope treated fans to a Mad Monster Mansion arrangement, and even teased that more would be on the way. He wasn’t kidding, as he’s given the same treatment to nearly the entire Banjo-Kazooie soundtrack. Have yourself a listen to Banjo Kazooie: Re-Jiggyed:

To think we’d get multiple versions of Spiral Mountain (courtesy of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) from the man himself within a few years of each other, or be graced with a delightful and bleep-bloopin’ treatment of “Click Clock Wood”… yet here we are, with plenty to keep our puzzle piece pilfering paws full.

You can find Banjo Kazooie Re-Jiggyed on YouTube music, Spotify, Apple Music, and more!

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
