Cotton and Silk have been having quite a year, flying onto modern consoles to share some spectacular cute ‘em up history. Recently Cotton 2 and Cotton Boomerang found their way to the eShop and Strictly Limited Games along with fellow shooter Guardian Force, but it looks like the wait for the next Cotton revival will be a short one.

Panorama Cotton changed things up by being a little less Gradius and a little more Space Harrier, taking things to a pseudo-3D view and ramping up the fantastical imagery. It’s an extra unique entry for the series and has been one I’ve been looking forward to. You can take on this rail shooter for yourself when it returns on October 29th.

You’ll also be able to find this one over on Strictly Limited Games. A standard, physical edition will be released – Switch copies will be limited to 2,500 while the PS4 edition will be even more limited at just 1,500.

If that’s not rare enough for you, a Collector’s Edition is also on the way with some extra colorfu collectibles. It will feature:

  • Game for Nintendo Switch (1,500 copies) or PlayStation 4 (800 copies)
  • Collector’s Edition box
  • Colorful game manual
  • Yunomi (Japanese-style tea cup)
  • Natsume (Japanese-style tea can)
  • Kakemono (Japanese-style wall scroll)
  • Original soundtrack
  • Large reversible poster (A2)
  • 6x Postcards
  • 2x Lenticular cards
  • Window sticker

Last but not least will be a Retro Release, bringing on 900 copies for the Sega Genesis and 600 for the Mega Drive. It’s a little odd celebrating a region locked console in this day and age, but damn if I’m not impressed by the dedication to the game’s roots.

While those are not up on Strictly Limited Games just yet, you can currently still find copies of Cotton Guardian Force Tribute for both Switch and PS4 via the Strictly Limited shop.
