One of my favorite things about getting a new Super Smash Bros. Ultimate characters is the alternate costumes. While they’re pretty minor in the bigger picture, it’s fun when Sakurai and his team use them to throw in smaller references.

That said, Sora’s costumes are anything but small references. In fact, he has four unique models, featuring his outfits from the original Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts III. On top of those we also have alternate colours based on the Drive forms and, ingeniously, the Timeless River world from the second game.

Sora will be dropping into Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on October 18th.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
