Update (10/26/21): An English version of the recently released Triangle Strategy trailer is now available. Titled “Challenge Your Convictions,” the video gives a nice overview of the journey you’ll take as Serenoa. Check out a slightly broader summary of what you’ll see in our original article below.

Square Enix had its big presentation at Tokyo Game Show earlier today, where they showed off a brand-new trailer for Triangle Strategy, next year’s HD-2D strategy RPG from the makers of Octopath Traveler. While the trailer didn’t reveal anything too startlingly new, it summarized just about all the pertinent details known about the game so far.

30 years after the Saltiron War ravaged the continent of Norzelia, the flames of conflict are once again stirring. You control Serenoa Wolffort, a young lord of the Kingdom of Glenbrook, who’s set to marry a noble of the Duchy of Aesfrost named Frederica. Serenoa’s decisions and relationships with his allies will test his Convictions and set him upon one of three paths — Utility, Morality, and Liberty — which may put him at odds with Frederica, Glenbrook’s prince Roland, or even Serenoa’s own strategist Benedict. When truly weighty story decisions come into play, Serenoa and his entire legion will vote on what to do — meaning what allies you choose to recruit will also play a factor in your route. Ultimately, it seems choice is at the center of the game, which is a good sign of things to come.

Triangle Strategy will release March 4th, 2022. You can pre-order your copy on Amazon today. Stay tuned for more details on the title in the months before release.
