If the brand-new trailer wasn’t enough we’ve also been treated to a bunch of new Pokémon Legends: Arceus information via the official website!

For starters, as the trailer suggests, the previously seen Wyrdeer, Basculegion, and Hisuian Braviary aren’t technically in your party and will instead be summoned with the Celestica Flute after you’ve done tasks for their associated Warden.

We also have confirmation of character customization, with a variety of outfits and hairstyles being available.

Perhaps the oddest new bit of information, however, is the Arc Phone. Even though the game is set long before the modern era, you’ll still be carrying around a smartphone, though it’s taken obvious design cues from Arceus so maybe there’ll be more to it than meets the eye…

The Arc Phone itself will be how you view the map and objectives.

The high-tech PC systems of the modern-day games won’t be carrying over, however. If you have more than 6 Pokémon you’ll be plonking them in Pastures, where you’ll seemingly be able to interact with them. Here’s hoping there’s enough space!

Pokémon Legends: Arceus will launch on January 22nd, 2022.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
