Monkey Ball is a fairly simple concept to grasp – you see, the monkeys are in balls. Rolling those orbs to their destination by tilting the stage is second nature, and thanks to a whole lot of expert course design it’s a bunch of fun. But what if we changed things up, making the start the finish and the end the beginning? Such will be your fate in Reverse Mode!
Think you know your Super Monkey Ball courses? 🙈

Now even master class monkey ballers will have to rethink their approaches in this new, unlockable challenge. Per the description above it seems only ten courses of the game’s 300 will take this twist to heart. At least that’s the only change up being thrown at all these Sega characters in spheres. I mean, what else could they do, make bananas bad?
What if you couldn't eat your favorite food? That'd be bananas! 🍌
Enter Dark Banana Mode, 10 stages where you'll have to avoid rotten bananas and reach the Goal! 🎊#SuperMonkeyBall #BananaMania pic.twitter.com/1GPNU9Vnvq

Yes indeed, another unique (or rather, reversed) challenge is upon Banana Mania! Dark Banana Mode will task you with ten stages as well, only in these all those precious potassium sources have gone rotten. You’ll have to avoid them despite AiAi’s well documented love of the fruit, making for more of an obstacle course vibe. It too is unlockable, and is another showing of how this game is more than a mere compilation.
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, replete with these and hopefully more, will be here in a little over a month on October 5th. Be on the lookout for, at the least, more guest characters like the recently announced Morgana from Persona 5.
