Fans of the Earthbound (MOTHER) series, a new clip of Earthbound 64 is available for all to view thanks to Twitter user @realZen64! Check out the trailer below that made for Nintendo’s own tradeshow, Space World 1997.

Zen acquired the trailer and others by winning a Yahoo! Japan auction of the Nintendo Company Report 1998 CD-ROM for $357.72. This CD contains a variety of clips of Nintendo 64 titles in various stages of development. Zen is in the process of uploading these other trailers – Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo Kazooie, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and more – onto their YouTube channel. A dump of the entire CD is also available to download via Google Drive

Footage of Earthbound 64 (initially titled as MOTHER 3) is scarce. Previous notable sources that have been made available to the public include clips from Space World 1996 and a trailer uploaded by IGN (available on YouTube since May 2011).

Illustrator, designer, writer and big Nintendo geek, you can find Jennifer with an N3DS within reach 24/7. As the oldest of three, she has survived many Mario Party, Super Smash Bros. and Mario Kart sessions intact in addition to getting her brothers hooked on some really weird games. (Cubivore anyone?)
