In another showing of the Monster Hunter series’ momentum and popularity, Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has surpassed 1 million copies shipped since release. It took this RPG spin-off just about a week to qualify for Capcom’s Platinum Titles list, and it’s likely just getting started.
In honor of the milestone, new art of the game’s playable character, Ena, and Ratha was shared.

While Wings of Ruin may not have the staying power that a mainline entry (such as Monster Hunter Rise, which in two months reached 7 million sold) has, it’s still an impressive showing. The first Stories on 3DS never reached these numbers, and it’s likely the more global presence since courtesy of Monster Hunter World played a part in this growth.
We loved the game ourselves, as seen in our Monster Hunter Stories 2 review. There’s more free content on the way across the coming months to keep fans riding along with this early success.
