The mascot based platform fighter formula popularized by Super Smash Bros. doesn’t always work out, but there’s no denying the crossover based hype they bring. Enter Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, one such game that’s bringing Nicktoons from multiple decades together to throw hands. Whether you’re nostalgic for these characters or a current fan, it’s definitely a sight to behold:

IGN exclusively revealed the game, developed by Ludosity and Fair Play Labs. It’s use of Nigel Thornberry is the smashing stuff of nightmares, but is a perfect example of the kinds of characters they’re choosing. It’s only a partial look at the roster, but dark horse picks like Ren & Stimpy’s Powdered Toast Man and Aaahh!! Real Monsters’ Oblina are rubbing shoulders with Spongebob and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Twenty stages are planned, as are single player modes to complement the local and online multiplayer for up to four players. Interestingly, Ludosity has apparently confirmed rollback netcode “on supported platforms” and Wavedashing via Discord. It’s unknown if this will include the Switch, with Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl also coming to PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S this fall.
