Retro gaming sure has received a lot of attention lately, and for good reason. While emulation has been a viable option for gamers to play their favorite old games for years, there’s still something magical about using original hardware to play your favorite classics. Sadly, some hardware has aged much more poorly than others, and consoles like the original Game Boy can be a bit of a challenge to pick up and play, even with optimal lighting conditions.

Not bad for 1989

Enter the Consoler Mod For the Game Boy and Game Boy Color. This 3D printed creation from the fine folks at GameBox, gives you all you need to take an original Game Boy or Game Boy Color, and Frankenstein it in to a fully featured home console, with HDMI support to boot! If you’re like me and wondering: “how is this possible?”, the extremely talented Tito from Macho Nacho Productions has created a fully tutorial on both kits on his YouTube channel!

If this is a mod that you just can’t live without, you can find both available for pre-order right now on GameBox’s webpage. Happy tinkering!
