The Legend of Zelda timeline has long been discussed, even after an “official” one was provided (and then shortly after rearranged). One thing has remained fairly constant, though, and that’s that Skyward Sword is mostly accepted as the very first game from a story perspective. A new trailer for its HD remake has arrived, reminding fans of that fact while shouting out two previous titles in particular.

Both Link’s Awakening and Twilight Princess are alluded to, though it’s interesting to note there’s no mention of Breath of the Wild. Regardless of your thoughts on the whole of the series or its chronology, there’re plenty of gorgeous moments worked into this cutscene heavy trailer that marks the final week of waiting for the return of Skyloft.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD will release on July 16th, with special (and elusive) Joy-Con and a Zelda & Loftwing amiibo available the same day.
