In less than a month the earliest story in the Legend of Zelda timeline will be retold. Skyward Sword HD will come to Switch with new button controls, reworked motion controls, amiibo support, and the same gorgeous world looking more vibrant than ever. Just reading that may not be enough, but how about a fresh overview trailer detailing all that’s in store for this Link and Zelda?
The trailer also gives some attention to several NPCs you’ll find in Skyloft and beyond, including some of the most unique races of creatures that the series has known. It’s criminal we’ve never seen the Kikwis return, and the lack of a dedicated Groose game needs to be remedied. In its absence, though, I suppose this re-release will do.
The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD descends onto Switch July 16th, along with the Zelda & Loftwing amiibo and its own special edition Joy-Con modeled after the Master Sword and Hylian Shield. Hopefully you already knew about those, as orders have been sold out for some time, but keep an eye on Nintendo Wire for if and when they’re back in stock.
