Father’s Day is this weekend, and it looks like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate remembered to mark its calendar. A new Spirit Board event is on the way focused entirely on dads from across all of the represented series. So settle in for an afternoon watching golf and hoping you picked out the right book about World War II as a gift, and see which smashing dads show up!

There are some great “portraits” in this event’s featured image, like Ness staring longingly at a rotary phone in the presence of his father’s absence. Or how about Fox literally standing in the shadow of his father James McCloud? Is the Smash Bros. promotional team trying to tell us something here…?
Setting those aside, who doesn’t love seeing Lucas and Claus flanking Flint, or Roy and Eliwood back to back? It’s all a fitting celebration, and it’ll be live in Smash this whole Father’s Day weekend, beginning this Friday, June 18th.
