Originally a Wii U exclusive, Koei Tecmo’s survival horror title Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water became a fan-favorite on the last generation system as it garnered a small following from fans despite suffering a mixed reception from critics.

Returning from the grave and back with a vengeance, Maiden of Black Water was announced to be receiving a brand new port to modern systems during today’s E3 2021 Nintendo Direct.

In Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water players are forced to repel the deadly ghosts surrounding Mt. Hikami while uncovering its legendary mystery. The story follows three different protagonists including the daughter of recurring Fatal Frame lead Miku Hinasaki.

It is important to note that while Nintendo previously had a stake in the Fatal Frame franchise, the latest port of the title will surprisingly be coming to the majority of other platforms.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will be released sometime this year. When more details about the upcoming release are announced, we’ll be sure to let you know!
