If I were inclined to bet, I’d have said Nintendo and Intelligent Systems would’ve brought out a Fire Emblem remake of some sort for the big E3 Direct. After all, the series has been on a tear and it’s not like they have another turn and grid-based strategy game to fall back on… right?

This time, I’m happy to be oh-so-wrong.

Out of nowhere comes Advance Wars 1 + 2 Re:Boot Camp! This dual strike of a game will pack together both the original Advance Wars and its excellent sequel, Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising. With that come returning COs, full campaigns, and a brand-new art style that’s looking clean and stylish.

Advance Wars 1 + 2 Re:Boot Camp will deploy on Nintendo Switch beginning December 3rd. It’s also planned to be shown during today’s Treehouse Live, so look forward to more details and footage soon.
