Blending turn-based strategy with a theme can be tricky business, with staples like warfare and giant robots being pretty spoken for. If you’re after something distinct, might I suggest Indiana Jones-esque pulp action and adventure? That’s exactly what Robotality and Chucklefish are serving up in their pixelated partnership known as Pathway.

Originally released on PC, Pathway will be making its way to Switch in just a couple of weeks. Being quite the fan of this genre, I’m getting more intrigued the more I look into the game. Per its press release and the above trailer, there’s quite an emphasis on storytelling and team building based on its cast of leads to carry the gameplay itself. And who doesn’t love a good treasure hunt every now and then, where your finds can fetch a high price even if (or perhaps precisely because) they belong in a museum?

Pathway will be arriving on the Switch eShop on May 27th for $15.99. Pre-ordering will get you a 20% discount, so if your interest is piqued or you’re ready to continue your adventuring on Switch you can take advantage now.
