Announced earlier this year, The Pokémon Company and Universal Music Group are celebrating Pokémon’s 25th anniversary with a massive musical collaboration album. The initial announcement named Katy Perry to headline this endeavor, but it hasn’t been until this month we’ve heard what her single will be for the project and it’s quite electric.

In a whirlwind of a week, “Electric” was teased on Monday, announced on Tuesday with a release date of Friday, May 14th, and now today (Thursday) featured a “first look” of the music video on Good Morning America (GMA).

The music video is focused on Katy Perry and her early days as a singer playing at farmer’s markets in California, but with a Pokémon twist. Pikachu and Pichu will be there too, looking back at her career’s evolution.

Amidst the announcement and first look, the music video for “Electric” has a placeholder on Katy Perry’s official YouTube channel. It’s set in premiere mode as of the publishing of this article and has been playing a short trailer featuring snippets of the song and video.

The music video for “Electric” will debut at 9 p.m. PT | 12 a.m. ET tonight and the single will also be available to listen to on Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming services.
