Niantic’s yearly mega-Pokémon GO event has a date for 2021! Announced today on Twitter, Pokémon GO Fest returns this July – specifically as a two-day event taking place on Saturday, July 17th, and Sunday, July 18th.

A post on the official Pokémon GO blog states that Trainers should mark their calendars for this global event. As for any further details about the event, Niantic only has this to say: “What does this year’s event have in store? Well, you’ll just have to wait and see! 2021 marks both the twenty-fifth anniversary of Pokémon and the fifth anniversary of Pokémon GO, so trust us when we say you won’t want to miss Pokémon GO Fest 2021! We can’t wait to celebrate another summer together. Stay tuned for more details!”

With “tuned” emphasized and the inclusion of two connected 8th notes (♫) in Pokémon GO Fest 2021’s logo, chances are that music will play a major role in the event. Perhaps we’ll see The Pokémon Company’s P25 Music initiative tied into the event, or, more likely, see the debut of Meloetta.

Alongside the announcement, an official site for Pokémon GO Fest 2021 has been made public. No doubt it’ll be updated and become a hub for when we get closer to July 17th and 18th!
