Let’s face it, the runner genre could use some fresh ideas, and that’s exactly what Headup Games and developer Aerial_Knight plan to bring to the scene when Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield lands on the Nintendo Switch next month. Announced during today’s Nindie Showcase, this stylized 3D side-scrolling runner set in a Tokyo-infused future-Detroit puts players in the sneakers of protagonist Wally, as he parkours his way through the city on a quest to save the future.

The game will feature a stylish semi-low-poly 3D look, a soundtrack by local Detroit artist Danime-Sama, and slick free-running action.

Aerial_Knight shared his excitement on bringing his brain child to the Switch:

“This project began as just a passion project I started on my own to create something familiar but new for this generation of gamers while highlighting aspects of a culture that is often overlooked. I really hope you enjoy the game once its released and follow my journey to create new and interesting games.”

Aerial_Knight’s Never Yield will wall-run into a backflip and stick the landing on the Switch eShop on Wednesday, May 19th, and a demo for the game is available starting today.
