Running over monsters in an SUV while blasting shambling hordes of the undead aren’t gameplay features that you’d usually see in a bright, family-friendly action game. However, that’s just what Outright Games and Atomic Cartoons have in store for players when they release The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom on Switch later this spring.

This family-friendly post-apocalypse action game developed by Stage Clear Studios is based on the New York Times best-selling book series and Emmy award-winning Netflix series “The Last Kids on Earth,” with this title serving as the latest point in the series’ timeline. The game will feature four-player couch co-op at launch, with online co-op set to be added in a future update.

“In The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom, fans can immerse themselves in an all new story, exploring the massive town of Wakefield and taking on hordes of zombies. Play as the series’ legendary heroes Jack, Quint, June and Dirk, as they search for the missing pieces of the ultra-powerful ‘Staff of Doom’ and try to overcome Malondre, the Queen of the Slime Monsters, as she seeks to summon Rezzoch, the Ancient Destructor of Worlds.”

The Last Kids on Earth and the Staff of Doom is bringing the fight for earth to the Nintendo Switch on Friday, June 4th, and is currently available to pre-order at GameStop in the US for $39.99.
