After successful testing in Australia, Pokémon GO’s new referral program is now available worldwide. The new feature is designed to reward players who introduce users that are new or have taken a significant break from the game.
Both the referrer and their friends will receive rewards, including “Pokémon encounters, Rare Candy, Incubators, and more” as milestones are reached.
According to a new blog post on the official Pokémon GO blog, instructions are as follows:
- Go to the Friends screen and tap Invite to get your referral code.
- Share that code with a friend who’s new to Pokémon GO or who hasn’t played in at least 90 days.
- Once they input your referral code—either during the sign-up process or later on the Friends screen—you’ll both begin receiving rewards.
- As your friend reaches milestones on their journey, you’ll both receive more rewards. Make sure to help them out along the way!
It’s a great time to introduce friends back to Pokémon GO, with the springtime event beginning this Sunday and many more events to come in April.
