Monster Hunter Rise has arrived, bringing the fifth generation of Capcom’s addictive action RPG to Switch. To mark the release, a launch trailer has debuted that shows off what’s new for this entry in the series as well as its roster of monsters.

That includes one new (albeit familiar) addition in Apex Rathalos. Rise’s Apex monsters are powerful variants that lead the charge in its new Rampage quests, and Rathalos is looking extra threatening in that role. This’ll include a new design for the familiar king of the skies, but you’ll also have to contend with its vicious tenacity as it tries to break through Kamura Village’s defenses.

Apex Rathalos, as well as returning Elder Dragon Chameleos and “several” more large monsters, will arrive as part of Rise’s free 2.0 update in late April. In the meantime, there’s plenty to hold you over in Monster Hunter Rise as is, available now.
