Way back in 2016, we reported on the release of an unfinished version of the cancelled Game Boy Color RPG Infinity.

The game was being developed by Affinix Software towards the handheld’s life, but once the market shifted towards the GBA, the game had to be cancelled far into development (it was supposedly 90% done), and the studio dissolved. That prototype ROM was the most we saw of one of the few western RPGs for the system, but that could thankfully be changing soon.

Incube8 Games and Retro Modding have announced plans to not only complete the game with a newly assembled team but also release it as both a physical cart for purchase and as a digital ROM for everyone to enjoy.

The project will hit Kickstarter this June. A newsletter can be subscribed to via the official website, which will also net you a special medley of the game’s soundtrack.

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
