During the reveals of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U, every fighter got a unique piece of art to celebrate their inclusion. Often these included work from their home studios and developers, capturing the characters and others they’d be fighting with splendidly. While this practice was unfortunately mostly dropped for Ultimate, it seems that Monolith Soft didn’t get the memo.

To celebrate Pyra and Mythra being revealed as the next Fighters Pass 2 characters for Smash Ultimate, Monolith had this illustration to share. Featuring the pair of Blades as well as fellow Xenoblade character Shulk, some Nintendo guests are along for the occasion. These include Bowser (who made a memorable appearance in Shulk’s own reveal), Mario, Inkling, Pichu, and Kirby.

Look forward to this Xenoblade Chronicles 2 pair meeting even more opponents when they come to Smash this March.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
