For its final announcement, today’s Nintendo Direct had a big surprise for all you squidkids out there. Yes, Splatoon is back with a brand new title on the way! Featuring many fresh elements in its brief introductory trailer, it also showed off a world that may be the aftermath of Splatoon 2’s last big Chaos vs. Order Splatfest.
Most interesting are two clear, new additions. These are a Little Buddy Salmonid that could be customized along with your Inkling or Octoling, as well as a brand new bow weapon. Other specials and aesthetic differences could also be spotted in the new gameplay, and some sweet familiar music cranked the series’ vibes up to eleven.
#Splatoon3 arrives on #NintendoSwitch in 2022! In the wake of chaos, enter the sun scorched Splatlands and the new city, Splatsville, inhabited by battle-hardened Inklings & Octolings. New weapons, moves, and more await, so be sure to keep an eye out for updates in the future. pic.twitter.com/Q0g6qbZBs5
