Working with Activision, Vicarious Visions had been on a roll. They spearheaded Crash Bandicoot’s ongoing revival by developing the N. Sane Trilogy, and recently released Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2. For all you toys-to-life fans, they were also a key piece of the Skylanders puzzle. Going forward, though, they’ll be operating in a different capacity.

As reported by gamesindustry.biz, Vicarious Visions has now been merged with Blizzard. This move from one half of Activision Blizzard to the other means VV’s 200 or so employees will be supporting those titles rather than leading development themselves. Which specific Blizzard titles were not announced, but new Overwatch and Diablo titles are currently in the works.
