Katsuhiro Harada needs no introduction with respect to fighting games. As his Twitter bio states, he’s worked on Tekken for the past 26 years, regularly attending events and communicating with fans the world over.

One such interaction over the weekend will certainly be interesting to Nintendo fans, as Harada-san “would like to make” a sequel/follow up to Pokkén Tournament.

When asked if Pokkén was a one time only game, he cited the strong relationship Bandai Namco has with Nintendo and the Pokémon Company. The decision is ultimately up to them, but knowing Harada-san would be on board is encouraging to hear.

With New Pokémon Snap on the way, it’s clear TPCI and Nintendo trust Bandai Namco with Pikachu and his friends. Hopefully, a Pokkén follow up is possible, be it on the Switch or another system down the line. In the meantime, you can still play or pick up Pokkén Tournament DX for the Nintendo Switch.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.
