It’s an age-old question that can be applied to just about any situation, and this week Nintendo has applied it to a new Ninji Speedrun course in Super Mario Maker 2.
Announced yesterday on Twitter, this Super Mario Bros. 2 focused course will task players with using enemies and obstacles as tools to reach the goal, instead of simply smearing them across the bottom of Mario’s boots. Quick-thinking players can also dig up a Cloud Block to help them reach the goal even more swiftly!
A new #SuperMarioMaker2 Ninji Speedrun course, “SMB2 Mario: Can You Dig It?”, is out now! Ride on enemies or snowballs that you'd normally just stomp. Let your foes carry you to victory, or pick 'em up and throw 'em! If you get stuck, try digging up a Cloud Block! pic.twitter.com/gnAot7MAwb

According to the Japanese Super Mario Maker 2 website, the course will only accept completed times “from January 20, 2021 (Wednesday) 11:00 to January 27, 2021 (Wednesday) 11:00” (times listed are in JST). With a little time conversion, that means you’ll be able to partake and rank in this snowy course until Tuesday, January 26th, at 6 p.m. PT | 9 p.m. ET.
So, can you dig it?
