Last week saw the return of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game to digital storefronts on multiple consoles. The once lost game (now as its Complete Edition) has plenty to praise, but as noted in our review there’s just something about that soundtrack.

Composed and performed by Anamanaguchi, the band recently got together as part of a launch stream to play their way through pretty much the entire thing. This is notable as they rarely revisit these songs live, mostly due to their brief length or looping nature.

Now this condensed take is the perfect half hour listen through. It can’t compete with seeing them live (I’ve managed to three times now, definitely recommend when concerts are possible again) but for fans of these praiseworthy chiptune jams it can’t be beat.

You can pick up the Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game soundtrack on vinyl via Limited Run Games now. This run features never before released tracks on a separate 10″ record and new artwork. Best of all, every cent of profit goes to Anamanaguchi themselves.
