Super Mario Maker was one of the Wii U’s best games, taking advantage of the GamePad in such a way that even its sequel for the Switch isn’t quite as intuitive.

Yet all good things must come to an end eventually, and Nintendo is going to be cutting off the ability to upload courses to the Wii U version of Super Mario Maker from March 31, 2021.

That’s not all, either, as alongside the discontinuation will come the closure of the Super Mario Maker Bookmark website. You’ll still be able to play courses uploaded before March 31st, however.

Finally, you won’t be able to buy the game from the Wii U eShop on January 13th, 2021. Super Mario Maker 2 for the Nintendo Switch won’t be affected.
