Back in May of this year, we reported on Capcom gearing up for Mega Man Battle Network’s 20th anniversary in 2021 with a call to potential licensing partners for merchandise deals featuring the .EXE version of the blue bomber.

Back then it was just in Japan, but an update to the English page for the Mega Man license has a new banner at the bottom that reads “Capcom is looking for licensing partners for Mega Man Battle Network’s 20th Anniversary.”

This could be significant for fans of the games, too. As Rockman Corner points out, back in 2016 Capcom similarly reached out to licensing holders to mark Mega Man X’s 25th Anniversary, and the X Legacy Collections were announced as part of the overall celebrations.

We’ll have to wait and see if the same rings true for Battle Network, but at the very least we could see some new merch on the horizon!

Whether it’s an exciting new entry in a series long established or a weird experiment meant only for the dedicated, Tom is eager to report on it. Rest assured, if Nintendo ever announces Elite Beat Agents 2, he’ll be there.
