Get ready to hum the bassline and fly like a butterfly, because Sega’s getting funky with their latest 60th Anniversary retrospective. Previously they came out swinging with the Crazy Taxi series, but this time it’s all about cel shaded style and a fight for free expression. That’s right – it’s time for Jet Set Radiooooooooo!

Though it’s more associated with the Dreamcast and original Xbox, there was a GBA port of Jet Grind Radio back in the day and characters like Beat and Gum have popped up in Sega crossovers and spinoffs. It may not be their most used IP, but it’s a fan favorite that’s overdue for another entry so we can finally understand the concept of love.

When he isn’t writing for Nintendo Wire, Ricky’s anticipating the next Kirby, Fire Emblem, or if the stars ever align, Mother 3 to be released. Till then he’ll have the warm comfort of Super Smash Bros. to keep him going.

I would deeply love either a full on upgrade release of Jet Set Radio Future for the Switch, or an entirely new game in the series, something like Jet Set Radio Universe, give us all the series characters, let us build our own character, give us stat upgrades and customization, and give us massive classic and new maps to play around in. Give us online multiplayer with more new ideas, things like racing, score beat, tag tag, graffiti war… I’ve a million ideas Sega, hit me up!

All 3 jet games are amazing, ( im counting the gba one) some of the greatest games ever made and still hold up, please make more. Closes thing we got to one was sunset overdrive years back on xbox one, if not new one the a special hd remake or rerelease, would love to grab achievements on jet.

Why are they so slow to release another version? Do they not care what fans think? I may just develop a knock off version just to appease the fans….of which i am indeed.

Y’all really haven’t heard of the reasons as to why they haven’t made a new entry to the series? Then I definitely don’t expect you guys to know about a game being made right now called Bombrush Cyberfunk, basically giving the finger to Sega. Go check it out and do a little research about it, if you really love this series it’ll be worth your time.
