A relaxing game where you’re out in nature and taking a short hike was an escape for Adam Robinson-Yu. It’s very e created A Short Hike, which was released on Nintendo Switch this year, and was invited to be the latest guest on Nintendo of America’s Indie World Developer Story column.

Hitting a creative block on a different project, Robinson-Yu took a step back and decided to take a break. Plus, have a little fun and work on a prototype inspired by his hiking experiences. After deciding to focus his attention on this prototype and forgo the big, ambitious project he was previously working on, A Short Hike was born. Robinson-Yu does mention that he didn’t make the game completely alone, that he asks friends to join him in finishing the game about a little stroll.

The entire piece is worth a read and can be found at Nintendo of America’s Indie World site. Interested in the game? It’s available to purchase/download on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch right now.
