Things have been quiet on the Tetris 99 front lately. Last night, though, Nintendo announced the return of a weekend long Tetris Maximus Cup. The tie in this time is Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Crown Tundra expansion, though anyone expecting a new theme may be disappointed.

As pointed out in the above description, the original Sword and Shield theme will be making a return appearance. It’ll only take 50 points earned rather than the usual 100 to add this one to your collection. If you’ve already gotten this one, no unique prizes will be up for grabs when this one starts on Friday, October 16th, and runs through the weekend.
