In honor of Pokémon Sword and Shield’s upcoming release of  The Crown Tundra DLC, Ash’s Pikachu is returning for a new round of distribution. The iconic Electric-type star is also bringing Ash’s hat collection, making this a big Pikachu Party. Eight different hats made the journey which means there are eight different Pikachu to collect. As shown in today’s announcement video, each Pikachu will be available with a code. As for the codes, well, you’ll have to keep watch over the next month.

From an official press release:

Beginning Tuesday, September 29, and up through Friday, October 30, Trainers can find special passwords in various places including the Play Pokémon Twitter feed, and the Pokémon Trainer Club e-mail newsletter. When Trainers enter the passwords into their Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game, they can obtain Pikachu—and not just one but eight, each donning a different cap. For more information about this in-game event, please visit Pokemon.com/PikachuDistributions.

Similar to previous campaigns, the Ash Hat Pikachus come with a few restrictions (i.e.: won’t evolve) and that the codes to “catch ‘em all” will expire by the end of November. From Pokémon.com

You do not need to have purchased the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass or Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass to claim any of these forms of Ash’s Pikachu, and you can receive each of these forms only once in a single save file. Also, please note that Ash’s Pikachu cannot evolve. Likewise, Ash’s Pikachu cannot be fed Max Soup, which is featured in The Isle of Armor (part one of the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass). Each of these passwords must be entered into your Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield game by November 30, 2020, at 6:59 a.m. PST, so don’t wait, Trainers!”

Make sure to keep checking back for these codes and enter them immediately in your copies of Pokémon Sword and Shield! Who knows when these special Pikachus will be available again.
