For a collection that sees Mario conquer a galaxy, it’s fitting that he is once again taking over the world. Mere days after its reveal, Super Mario 3D All-Stars is already the second bestselling game of the year on Amazon.

In Amazon’s “Best Sellers of 2020,” the platforming collection has immediately skyrocketed to 12th place — an impressive placement in a list mostly consisting of various gift cards and hardware accessories. It is the second highest-ranking game in this category, beaten only by the physical and digital versions of Animal Crossing: New Horizons (which sit at #4 and #10 respectively).

With Mario’s name attached, it’s not too surprising to see a product like this shift large numbers of units, but it also doesn’t hurt that Super Mario 3D All-Stars is only available as a limited-time release. The triple-game collection, consisting of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy, will launch on September 18th, 2020 with the run ending on March 31st, 2021 (digital version included). It makes sense that lots of people are trying to secure a copy of the collection as quickly as possible, considering the short window of availability.
