Today’s Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Direct didn’t end with an announcement or a promise, but with some nostalgia instead. This special Super Mario Bros. Medley video takes viewers through many of the plumber’s platforming adventures, capturing memorable moments dating back to the NES and all the way to the Nintendo Switch.
My favorite touches are the little tricks that were worked in alongside the more “set-piece” moments, like the infinite 1-Up trick in the first Super Mario Bros. or just how helpful the spin jump spray was in Super Mario Sunshine’s Sirena Beach.
Between the now downloadable Super Mario All-Stars on the Nintendo Switch Online service and the Super Mario 3D All-Stars game releasing on Friday, September 18th, you’ll be able to enjoy many of these games once again (or for the very first time) real soon.
