Mega Evolution is on its way?! According to Niantic, the company tweeted out this mega-size tease on Pokémon GO’s official Twitter account.

Okay, it’s not a “mega” surprise if you read through Pokémon GO’s APK 0.185.0 (Version 1.151) update datamine last week, but the turnaround here is fairly swift. For those who didn’t peruse the spoilers, you might be wondering what Mega Evolution stone is included in the image above. They’re not stones, but Mega Evolution Candy. Yes, the candy-theme continues, but luckily these won’t be locked to a Pokémon (similar to Rare Candy).
As for when Mega Evolution will officially debut? We’ll just have to wait and see how Niantic adds this new feature – via a rollout based on Trainer Level or continuing to tweet out story elements until the time is just right for a new quest to begin!
