Shin Megami Tensei V recently had a brand-new trailer that confirmed the game has in fact been in development and not lost to limbo, revealing a simultaneous worldwide release planned for next year. But it appears we can tighten that release window a little bit thanks to a fiscal report from SEGA, which announced that SMTV is slated to release this fiscal year, which ends March 31st, 2021.

Given that there’s only three months that fall within the 2020 fiscal year and the real 2021 calendar year, that tightens the potential release date considerably. The western release of Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne has already been revealed for March 2021, so maybe they’ll release V around then for maximum signal boosting? Hard to say, and at the moment we can only speculate — especially since there’s no official announcement and things can always get delayed. But expecting the game on the earlier side in 2021 seems like a decent bet at the moment.
