Fans of the 3DS will remember Gunman Clive. The 2D shooter with an old-timey aesthetic won the hearts of many, and was popular enough to warrant an HD re-release on the Switch’s eShop last year. Since then, Bertil Hörberg, the game’s creator has released Mechstermination Force, a 2D boss-rush style shooter. Now he’s trying his hand at the beat-em-up genre with his latest, yet unnamed project. He began teasing this new game a few days ago on twitter with actual gameplay, and has since posted renders for some of the characters that will be featured in it.
getting ready to submit to nintendo lotcheck soon. Guess I should start thinking about formally announcing the game some day as well pic.twitter.com/o0FQdJIzwY

The game seems to be taking the chalky Gunman Clive aesthetic and adapting it to the pseudo-3D spaces of beat-em-up classics like River City Ransom and Battletoads. The project currently has no release date, but should be coming fairly soon considering the fact that Bertil mentioned how he was already preparing to submit a build to Nintendo in his first tease of the game.
