During a recent Reddit AMA, Overwatch’s Director Jeff Kaplan was once again asked about the possibility of crossplay coming to the title of its forthcoming sequel. Kaplan’s response to the question was similar to his responses in the past: “This is something we’re passionate about and exploring.” While this is nothing new, it’s reassuring that the topic is still being acknowledged.
Overwatch 2 is confirmed to carry over all player progress and skins, and will essentially function like more of a PvE add-on than a separate sequel. With that in mind, hopes are high that crossplay will be part of the picture in time for its release. Overwatch 2 is currently announced for Nintendo Switch, but it has no confirmed release date.
