Over the weekend, the ever dutiful messenger owl Feh brought a surprise presentation on August happenings in Fire Emblem Heroes. This latest Feh Channel promised plenty of summer bonuses, an upcoming batch of special heroes, and an overdue return of Hero Fests. Let’s dive right in!

To begin, it was announced that later in August a quintet of pirate themed heroes will come to the game. Pirate is one of the less represented classes in Fire Emblem, so it’s nice to see it get some love both with characters tied to the high seas and some who pull off the look fairly well. They include:

  • Tibarn (Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn)
  • Brigid (Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War)
  • Geese (Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade)
  • Darros (Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light)
  • Duo Veronica & Xander (Fire Emblem Heroes and Fire Emblem Fates)

The majority will arrive as part of a new focus on August 7th, with Darros following as a free Tempest Trial+ reward.

Some general updates were announced as well, such as added information to occupy screen real estate on taller devices and new Arena maps. Another summoning pool purge will be in effect for all future focuses, removing older (and mostly powercrept) characters from focuses tied to new and special heroes. Those characters will receive their own, rotating focuses alongside the current ongoing ones for older heroes.

Also detailed was Feh’s Summer Celebration for 2020! This is ongoing now in game, rewarding Orbs and other items to players just for logging in. Along with those are event maps for easy Orbs, daily Bound Hero Battle revivals (along with quests and free summons), and best of all – the return of Hero Fest!

This extra special summoning focus brings together four highly desirable characters at increased appearance rates for a limited time. Even noted in the presentation, one of these hasn’t been held in a long while. The line up this time includes:

  • Bernadetta (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)
  • Nagi (Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon)
  • Duo Ephraim & Lyon (Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones)
  • Sothis (Fire Emblem: Three Houses)

Anyone who logs in during the focus’ active period (from now until August 8th) will get five first summon tickets for it as well. This Hero Fest will also be replacing the current Starter Support focus, giving new players the chance at some great first five stars.

Another Feh Channel was also teased, due sometime in mid-August to discuss September events. This’ll include the Choose Your Legends 4 winners and their focus, so try to take what you can and give nothing back with all these summer bonuses. With Hero Fest and pirates on the way, that might be easier said than done.
