Pokémon GO Fest 2020 was an incredible success! Unless you were Team GO Rocket, then it was a bit of a “blasting off” disaster. Whoops! So much for trying to secure victory by luring and capturing a Victini.
For those who purchased a GO Fest 2020 ticket, took part in Day 2’s Special Research task (GO Fest 2020: Rocket Straight to Victory), and completed it, then you know there’s a set of battles that took place off-screen. Professor Willow couldn’t give us a play-by-play as we had a bigger foe to take down. Thankfully, Niantic was able to publish some footage of Pokémon GO team leaders facing Team GO Rocket leaders in the style of a motion comic.
We thought something like this might happen, given Pokémon GO’s 4th anniversary illustration. Sadly, these aren’t friendly-natured battles, but fighting to prevent a Team GO Rocket takeover. Thankfully, Spark, Candela, and Blanche secured victory, and GO Fest 2020 was saved!
