Splatoon 2 was one of the first major releases post-Switch launch, hitting store shelves on July 21, 2017. That means it’s celebrating its third anniversary, and naturally Nintendo wants to celebrate.
For starters, we’ve got some all-new official art showing the Inklings and Octolings side-by-side.
Happy splat-iversary Inklings and Octolings! It’s the 3-year anniversary of #Splatoon2, and the team has shared this fun new art!

But that’s not all – to celebrate further, a classic Splatfest is coming back. It’s the one that asked the classic question, “which came first, the Chicken or the Egg?”, where chickens proved the victor in March 2018.
We're getting into the anniversary spirit & taking another crack at a classic #Splatfest question! It’s your second chance to answer the conundrum of which came first, the Chicken or the Egg?

And it doesn’t even end there, as Nintendo promises two more bonus Splatfests will land before March 2021. What these’ll be remains a mystery.
You’ll be able to take part in the Chicken or Egg Splatfest once more starting next month on August 21st.
