COVID-19 threw off the schedules to this year’s Pokémon GO Fest, but that’s not to say 2020 will pass without celebrations, as the event is set to go ahead digitally.
To get players geared up a new teaser has been released showing how the barrier to the outside world will be torn down, quite literally. Yet the commercial has been directed by someone you might not expect – Rian Johnson, of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Knives Out fame.
As revealed on Niantic’s official blog, Rian is an avid GO player himself, and the commercial was his first time directing a production remotely.
Tickets are available to purchase in-game for Pokémon GO Fest 2020, which will be playable on July 25th and 26th.
